About Markets Understood
What is Markets Understood?
Markets Understood is a market intelligence platform in development for traders who want to identify market movements faster and understand them more clearly. MU combines market data, context and structured scenarios to reduce noise and make relevant activity easier to interpret.
Who is Markets Understood for?
The initial focus is on users who actively follow EUR spot markets and want more structure when assessing market activity, momentum, risk and possible trading scenarios.
Is Markets Understood a trading bot?
No. MU is not a bot that independently buys or sells on behalf of a user. The platform analyzes and structures market information. The user decides what, if anything, to do with that information.
Does Markets Understood provide personalized investment advice?
No. MU does not provide personalized buy or sell advice. Market information, scenarios and trade plan concepts are intended to support independent research and decision-making.
Does Markets Understood execute transactions?
No. Markets Understood does not execute orders and does not manage a user's trading account.
Does Markets Understood hold users' money or crypto?
No. MU is not an exchange, broker or custodian and does not hold user funds or cryptoassets.
Does Markets Understood focus on spot or futures?
The initial product scope is EUR spot. Futures, perpetuals and similar derivatives are not part of the first product scope.
Why does Markets Understood start with EUR markets?
MU is designed EUR-first so the analysis and user experience can initially remain focused on a clear European spot-market context instead of supporting every global market and quote currency at once.
Exchanges and market data
Which exchanges are supported first?
Why does MU use more than one exchange?
The same asset can differ between exchanges in volume, liquidity, spread and short-term behaviour. Looking at more than one market helps MU place a movement in better context.
Can the same coin behave differently on Bitvavo and Kraken?
Yes. Price levels are usually close, but trading volume, order flow, liquidity and temporary deviations can differ between exchanges.
What market data does Markets Understood analyze?
The analysis engine looks at factors including price development, volume, momentum, market structure and other technical market characteristics. Different inputs are assessed together rather than treating one indicator as the single source of truth.
How current is the market data?
MU is designed to process current market data. Exact freshness depends on factors including exchange APIs, the selected timeframe, network connectivity and the processing of new candles.
Can market data temporarily be delayed?
Yes. An exchange API, network connection or other data source can temporarily slow down or become unavailable. MU must therefore monitor freshness and data quality and avoid presenting stale information as new market information.
Which timeframes does Markets Understood use?
The technical analysis engine is designed for multiple timeframes. Which timeframes will ultimately be available at each product or subscription level will only be finalized for commercial launch.
Why can there be long periods without a new setup or activity?
MU does not need to produce new situations continuously. When the market does not meet the relevant conditions, a period with few or no new setups can be completely normal. Fewer signals do not automatically indicate a technical problem.
Market activity and signals
What does Markets Understood mean by market activity?
Market activity means that MU detects changes in market behaviour that may be relevant for further review, such as changes in volume, momentum or price movement.
What does unusual market activity mean?
It means that certain market behaviour differs from what is currently measured as normal or typical. It is an observation, not a prediction that price must subsequently rise or fall.
Does a signal guarantee that price will keep moving?
No. A signal indicates that certain conditions have been observed. Markets can change immediately afterwards and every scenario can eventually become invalid.
Can market activity later weaken or disappear?
Yes. Market data changes continuously. A situation that initially appears strong can later weaken, normalize or stop meeting the original criteria.
What is the difference between market activity and a trade plan?
Market activity is about recognizing and understanding what is happening in the market. A trade plan goes one step further and structures a possible scenario with factors such as risk, an entry area and possible targets.
Is Markets Understood a pump detector?
No. MU is deliberately not positioned as a pump detector. The platform analyzes market behaviour neutrally and looks at activity, momentum, context and deviations without assuming in advance why a movement is occurring.
Trade plans and risk
What is a trade plan concept?
A trade plan concept brings the main components of a possible scenario together. These can include an entry zone, stop-loss, potential profit targets and rules for how a position could be managed as the scenario develops.
What is an entry zone?
An entry zone is an area in which a scenario may become technically relevant. It is not an instruction to open a position and does not guarantee that the market will react as expected.
What do TP1, TP2 and TP3 mean?
TP stands for take-profit. TP1, TP2 and TP3 are different potential profit targets within the same scenario. Multiple targets show how a position could be managed in stages.
What is a stop-loss?
A stop-loss is a predefined level indicating where the original scenario may no longer be sufficiently valid or where risk could be limited.
What does break-even mean?
Break-even means that the risk level in a scenario may be moved towards the original entry after the market has developed sufficiently in a favourable direction. The exact application depends on the individual scenario.
What does trailing mean?
Trailing is a method in which a protective level can move along as the market develops favourably. This can help protect part of an existing move without immediately ending the entire scenario.
What does risk/reward mean?
Risk/reward compares the potential risk of a scenario with the potential return towards one or more targets. An attractive ratio still does not mean the scenario will be successful.
Can Markets Understood guarantee returns?
No. No market analysis or trading method can guarantee how a price will develop in the future. Losses always remain possible.
Indicators, timeframes and AI
Does Markets Understood use technical indicators?
Yes, technical market characteristics and indicators can form part of the analysis. MU is not designed to treat one indicator blindly as a buy or sell signal.
Why does MU combine different types of information?
Price, volume, momentum, market structure and context can each describe a different part of the same situation. Combining information allows a movement to be assessed with more nuance.
Does Markets Understood use AI?
AI can be used within MU to structure or explain available market information and context more clearly. The underlying market data and technical controls remain separate parts of the system.
Does AI decide which coin I should buy?
No. AI within MU is not intended to operate as a personal buying machine. The user remains responsible for interpretation and every final trading decision.
Can different timeframes show different market conditions?
Yes. An asset may show strong momentum on a short timeframe while the broader trend on a higher timeframe is weaker or points in the opposite direction. Timeframe context therefore matters.
